We are proud to be hosting one of Waltham Forest’s COVID Vaccination Centres. First opened on 8 January, we have seen the hard work that has gone into setting it up and running it, and received many positive and thankful messages from those who have received their vaccination so far. Our centre covers 50,000 patients in the local area, including 5 GP Practices and 6 Care Homes, with the aim of getting through 500 vaccinations a day. Since opening, the centre has been featured on news bulletins: first on the London ITV News on 8 January when Dr Asad Ashraf (Clinical Director for the E4 Primary Care Network) spoke of challenges from the uncertainties in the delivery of vaccines and lack of funding to hire dedicated staff; and secondly, on 2 February, when the BBC’s Laura Kuennsberg interviewed army medics administering the vaccine for the lead story on its national bulletins.

How does one book a covid vaccination?

Hi Barbara
Local doctor’s surgeries are sending out notifications to people on their books. The COVID booster is normally delivered six months after your last inoculation. If you are close to that, and haven’t heard it is best to contact your doctor’s surgery.
Regards.

Presently, vaccinations are being administered on Thursdays to Saturdays. I believe at least this week they are taking walk in vaccinations. However, the church is not running the vaccination centre.
Regards.

I was turned away from my Covid Booster booking on Saturday which I’d booked from a text invite sent from Handsworth Medical Practice.
I was told I couldn’t have my booster because it hadn’t been 6 months since my 2nd Covid vaccine (It had been 5.2 months, I know other people are getting them after this time period). This was hugely frustrating especially as some of the staff tried to imply that it was my fault. They are clearly not validating their bookings properly, the whole process is badly organised.
Also it doesn’t help that they have no channels of communication open, no phone number and no email address.
